Donate Life Month is observed each year in April. It is a month dedicated to raising awareness about organ donation, encouraging Americans to register as organ, eye & tissue donors, and to honor those who have saved lives through the gift of donation.

Throughout the month, our office will be raising funds for Donate Life Florida as well as encouraging customers to register as an organ donor during driver license and ID transactions.

2025 Donate Life Month Theme is “Let Life Sing”

Donate Life America chose this theme because birds are known across many cultures as one of the most welcomed and visible signs of spring. They represent both new beginnings and visits from loved ones who have passed away. The yearly return of birds and their songs offer us a sense of peace and hope.

When you visit our office this month, join us in observing Donate Life Month and “Let Life Sing”. Consider making a donation or registering to become an organ donor. Give the gift of life!

We are pleased to announce that our office came in second place statewide for dollars raised during Donate Life Month 2025! We raised $3,368 this year.

 

Spreading Warmth, One Gift at a Time

When you visit our office, join us in giving to Metropolitan Ministries. Bring a non-perishable food item or an unwrapped gift to drop in our donation barrel. We were presented with the Holiday Hero Award for hosting one of the largest drives in Tampa Bay last year! We donated over 3,400 items. Our goal this year is to have an even bigger drive with at least 4,000 items. We are collecting for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Join us and give hope to a family this holiday season!

Our Annual Back-to-School Supply Drive benefitting the Hillsborough Education Foundation (HEF) begins on July 3rd through July 31st.

HCTC team members and customers are encouraged to bring in school supplies throughout the month. Supplies will be donated to the Hillsborough Education Foundation’s Teaching Tools Resource Center. Teaching Tools is a store where teachers at Title 1 Schools can shop for free. Teachers are able to get much needed supplies for their students and classroom resources during the school year. Because of supply drives like ours, Teaching Tools Resource Center provided Hillsborough County teachers and students with more than $4.1 million is supplies last year. Our contributions make a huge difference in the lives of teachers and students in our community.

Throughout the month of August, we will be partnering with the Tampa Bay Lightning to promote their specialty license plate.

The Lightning Foundation is dedicated to investing its resources and leadership for the enrichment of the people of Tampa Bay, focusing on meeting basic human needs and enhancing lives.

Since 1996 the Lightning and the Florida Sports Foundation have been partnered in support of Florida’s youth and sports. The proceeds from the annual sale and renewal of the Tampa Bay Lightning license plate benefit The Lightning Foundation and the Florida Sports Foundation Major & Regional Grant Program.

We are thrilled to host another school supply drive in support of the Hillsborough Education Foundation throughout the month of July! We have partnered with the Hillsborough Education Foundation on this project since 2006, supplying a variety of resources to teachers and students all over the county.

Throughout the month of July, we are asking our employees and customers to donate school supplies toward this initiative. Our goal is to fill 5 pallets with school supplies that will then be delivered right to the Hillsborough Education Foundation’s Teaching Tools Resource Center. This resource is invaluable to teachers from Title 1 schools throughout Hillsborough County as they prepare for the new school year.

In this last school year alone, the Hillsborough Education foundation distributed 3.9 million dollars in school supplies to support over one hundred thousand students.

Starting July 1st, you can help us achieve our goal by bringing school supplies to any of our offices or by making a donation. Any amount helps, and we thank you for your support. Help us #PackTheBackpack for our Hillsborough County students and teachers!

National Donate Life Month 2022: Bee A Donor!

For National Donate Life Month (NDLM) 2022, Donate Life America was inspired by the vital role that bees play in sustaining life. Bees are a small but powerful life force, working together with dedication, collaboration and a strong sense of community.

This National Donate Life Month, we ask you to be a part of this interconnected life-sustaining community by registering as an organ, eye and tissue donor; becoming educated about living donation; and championing the Donate Life cause. This year’s theme is:  “Show Love. Save a Life. Bee a Donor!” campaign.
