Brandon office also takes first place in statewide Legacy Tree decorating contest

TAMPA, Fla., July 16, 2025 – The Hillsborough County Tax Collector’s Office (HCTC) has been named the top fundraiser among all Florida tax collector offices participating in this year’s National Donate Life Month campaign, raising $2,999.79 in support of Donate Life Florida’s mission to inspire organ, eye and tissue donor registration.

The office also registered 9,596 new organ, eye and tissue donors during the month of April, a reflection of HCTC’s ongoing commitment to connecting Hillsborough County residents with this lifesaving cause.

In addition to the fundraising win, the Brandon Tax Collector’s Office took first place in the statewide Legacy Tree decorating contest, adding another point of pride to the office’s Donate Life Month efforts.

HCTC kicked off its Donate Life Month activities in April with Louis Betz Jr. Day, honoring the legacy of organ donation advocacy in the community. Throughout the month, team members across HCTC’s offices continued to build on that momentum through education, outreach and fundraising.

The office has partnered with Donate Life Florida and LifeLink Florida for more than 12 years, working together to encourage residents to say yes to organ, eye and tissue donation and to support families and patients whose lives depend on transplantation.

“I am incredibly proud of our team for this accomplishment,” said Hillsborough County Tax Collector Nancy Millan. “This recognition reflects the heart and dedication our employees bring to every community partnership we take on, and I am honored to continue supporting this great mission alongside Donate Life Florida and LifeLink Florida.”
